Our Instructors

Kombat Karate instructors have years of training and instruction experience.

Ryan Mooney

Ryan began his martial arts training at the age of 4 under the instruction of his father, Wayne. At 7 years old he was brought to Sensei James Yabe for further instruction, whom he still trains under to this day. Ryan is a 2nd degree black belt soon to be 3rd degree, in Shotokan Karate, International medalist and National Karate champion. He currently serves as an assistant Instructor to Sensei Yabe, and is the Chief Instructor here at Kombat Karate.

Wayne Mooney

is a 2nd degree black belt and has been involved with karate for 51 years. He originally started practicing karate at the age of 23 at the Carson Karate Club in Carson, Ca. Under instructor  Sensei Ken Tambara, a Japan Karate Association 4th degree black belt. Wayne received both his black belts from Master Hidetaka Nishiyama (Sensei Tambara's Instructor).in 1975 and 1976 respectfully.
